I am a . Runner
Our Runner’s Evaluation is a solution for runners of any age and ability level looking for help with:
- Injury recovery and prevention for pain-free running
- Biomechanical efficiency and running mechanics for performance and injury prevention
The goal of the evaluation is to:
- Identify areas of weakness that could contribute to injuries, pain and reduced efficiency and performance.
- Accurately assess running-specific movement patterns, mobility and strength deficits,
- Evaluate dynamic posture and motor control and
- Assess running stability
You will receive a personalized Runner’s RX – a custom set of recommendations that may include exercises, movement patterns, stretches and strategies to address any problems identified during the evaluation. You’ll also receive footwear and insole recommendations plus answers to your questions to help you develop the most comfortable and effective long term running strategy.

How do I schedule my running eval?
Easy! Just call the clinic at (541) 385-3344 and ask for a running eval. You'll be scheduled with the running expert at your chosen location.
What should I bring and wear to my eval?
You'll want to bring running shorts and for women a tank top or sports bra so your therapist can evaluate how you use your trunk and upper body. Of course bring the shoes you wear normally plus your insoles if applicable, and any other shoes you wear occasionally or are just wondering about. Bring a training log or journal if you use one. Lastly, we'll want to know what you're doing for strength and flexibility, so bring or plan to demonstrate any routine exercises you do for your running.
What if I'm too painful to run?
Our running experts are physical therapists first and foremost, and evaluating and treating injuries including acute injuries is right in our wheelhouse. If it looks like you're not ready for your running evaluation we can simply pivot to a physical therapy program till you are ready.
If it looks like we need to do this, you might have insurance coverage for physical therapy that will pay for some or all of your visit, so let us know and we'll help you figure it out.
Is my running eval covered by my insurance?
Sadly running is not an activity most insurance companies will pay to rehab. Although we, like you, recognize the incredible physical health, mental and cognitive benefits of running, if that's the only problem area you're having, then you'll pay us directly for your runner's evaluation.
If however your injuries affect more than just running and they are impacting your non-running life and activities, it's possible you'll qualify for insurance covered physical therapy treatments.
Every case is different, so just ask us and we'll be happy to help you figure out what your best strategy will be.
