As many local athletes know, Peter and the team at Focus are amazing. But, what you may not know is that Peter’s team and Recharge offer conditioning classes too. I am writing this review because I wish I had known about these classes years earlier! In November and December of 2021, I took Focus’ Ski and Snowboarding Conditioning Class with Kasia. The ski workouts have made such a difference to me! I was motivated to take the class because of my highly surgically repaired knee and all the subsequent PT I have had. For the first ski season in over five years, I haven’t had any knee pain!!! Thank you! In addition, I have significantly more mobility and distinction between the upper half and lower half of my body—which I didn’t realized I lacked until I started skiing this year, and noticed what a difference it is to have it. I felt like I have really been able to sustain a more aggressive and low athletic stance through varied and difficult terrain.
A month after the class ended and I hadn’t been doing any of the Focus exercises, I began feeling familiar knee pain. To my amazement, when I contacted Kasia, she emailed me workouts from the classes and offered to explain how to do any if I had forgotten. I am thankful to have the long-term knowledge of how to keep pain at bay and focus on blue-bird days!
